Starwood announced it will open a new Le Méridien hotel in Putrajaya, a city in the Klang Valley region of Malaysia, in 2015. The new hotel, called Le Méridien Putrajaya, will be located close to the city's commercial district.

The property will have 350 guestrooms, two restaurants, a pool, fitness center, and spa. The hotel will also have 17,545 square feet (1,630 square meters) of meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom.

Guests will have access to a master coffee barista and free entrance to select museums and cultural centers in the surrounding area upon presentation of their key cards. In addition, large-scale artwork will be displayed throughout the hotel's public spaces.

Le Méridien Putrajaya will be located within walking distance of many shopping and dining venues, including the IOI City Mall, which is slated to open later this year.

Starwood currently operates nearly 1,200 properties in 100 countries worldwide. The new hotel will be the third Le Méridien brand establishment to open in Malaysia, after Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur and Le Mériden Kota Kinabalu.

I have never thought that staying in a budget hotel can be this comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I also like luxury hotels and the feeling that it gives, but during my trip to Malaysia I'm up for some adventure! I have booked my reservation through www.booking.com, they don't charge fees whatsoever for the reservation, you will only need a credit card to guarantee your booking with them and you will pay the total amount on the hotel itself when you arrive.

Our check in time should be before 2pm, but the hotel is so kind that they have acknowledged my emai that we will be arriving around 8pm since Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 is less than an hour from the City Centre. We stayed there for 1 night, and the experience is amazing! the place is designed very well made out of containers and even the rooms! Yes, even the rooms! And the place has Wifi too!

Container Hotel is an eco-friendly hotel that emphasises on going green, plus it wont hurt your wallet, and how they design the place is very artistic and one of a kind! Located at No 1, Jalan Delima, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, approx. 10 -15 minutes from Petronas Tower.

Well, it was indeed a one-of-a-kind stay and experience, gave me a different feeling of excitement and let me explore other place to stay. The Hotels Supervisor/Crew JB is very nice! We had a good laugh talking about the hotel and Malaysia! You might wanna give it a shot!

Over all, my verdict during my stay is (comparing to other budget hostels/hotels) :

Rating : 8.5/10 (Very Good)

Price: 4 /5 stars (very cheap room starts at 85RM)

Facilities: 3.5 /5 stars

Location: 4/5 stars

Service: 5/5 stars

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) is seeking more collaboration opportunities with the hotel industry to expand its hospitality entertainment solution (HES).

"We are in talks with a few hotels to provide them with the solution, and same as before, we will start with one hotel and further expand it to all the hotel chain under the group," TM
executive vice president for SME, Azizi A Hadi told reporters after signing a collaborative agreement with Accor Hotels here yesterday.

Azizi said to date, there are about 40 hotels using the HES, which features information and entertainment package, in-building broadband solution, TM's IPTV service, HyppTV and call centre service, powered by its high-speed broadband network connectivity.

On the collaborative agreement, TM is expected to provide the solution for 10 hotels under Accor Hotels in Malaysia.

The partnership will also focus on mutual benefit cooperation of products and services, loyalty programmes, corporate collaborations, joint marketing and promotions, earned media values as well as additional benefits for both parties' employees.

"Avangio Hotel in Kota Kinabalu is the pilot project for TM and Accor and we are keen to continue the partnership as there is no specific time frame for the collaboration.

"We view the collaboration as beneficial for both parties and shall grow the partnership," Azizi said.

Commenting on monetary benefit, he said the outcome of the collaboration was at a premature state and the leading integrated information and communications group would need to review the take-up rate to determine the effect on the group.

At the same event, Accor Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore Chief Operating Officer Gerard Guillouet said the group was expected to operate about 20 hotels in Malaysia by 2016.

"We have opened nine hotels so far, and 16 more hotels are still under construction," he said.

Asked on total investment, Guillouet said that the group acted as a hotel operator and was not involved in real estate investment.

"We are only involved in the web platform, which provide customers a better experience as it is available in 18 languages. As for real estate investment, it is handled by the local partners," he said, adding that the group was also keen to explore Johor as a potential hotel location. — Bernama

Was here for work and typically this location is meant for business more than leisure due to the location, it is not exactly near the city where the action is. Nevertheless, this place alone is pretty self-sufficient and no worries about places to eat and shop. Check out the pics below:

Behind the hotel is one street of good food and drinks!

Review – Very business style 4 star hotel, somewhere in the middle range. Located in Damansara area where the rich lives. Overall is quite a nice hotel.

Amenities – Bath: Basic. Room: Flat screen, chill sofa, work desk, free wifi. Not too bad. But the towels stank of too much bleach and didn't dry properly. So I asked the housekeeping to change them.

Service – Pretty good service but check in timing was a little too long.

Sleep Quality – Beds are comfy, sound proofing is quite good.

Breakfast – Brekkie is okay as compared to the other 4 stars. Food quality served are pretty cheap types.

RTS (Return To Stay) – Maybe not.

Overall – 3.5/5.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide today announced it has signed an agreement with IOI Properties Group to manage two hotels – Four Points by Sheraton Puchong and Le Méridien Putrajaya, slated to open in the fall of 2014 and 2015, respectively. These two new hotels will add 599 rooms to Starwood's robust portfolio in the country and reflect Starwood's desire to expand into the fast-growing districts of Malaysia. Puchong and Putrajaya are part of the Klang Valley area, which includes Kuala Lumpur and its suburbs and adjoining cities and towns in the state of Selangor.

Alphaland sells stake in Shangri-La hotel to Malaysia's Kuok Group

MANILA - The property firm of former trade minister Roberto V. Ongpin has sold its entire stake in the Shangri-La at the Fort to the property arm of Malaysia's Kuok Group.

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Alphaland Corp said its wholly owned subsidiary completed today a deal to sell its 20 percent interest in the hotel to units of Shang Properties Inc for a cash consideration of P1.7 billion.

The upscale leisure developer's divestment comes at a time when it is faced with difficulties, stemming from its dispute with former controlling shareholder Ashmore Group.

According to Alphaland, the UK-based fund had refused to fund the property developer and had intended to divest but has yet to find a buyer for its stake. Banks had declined to lend money to Alphaland amid uncertainty over the ownership structure of the Philippine firm.

Alphaland last January called for more capital from shareholders, allowing the Ongpin group to wrest control of the property developer.

The PSE has suspended trading of Alphaland shares since January 20 as the bourse evaluates the repercussions of a disclosure related to the alleged simulated sale of the company's shares in 2012 so the firm can maintain its listed status. The bourse is also reviewing the leisure developer's recent issuance of shares pursuant to a property swap and capital call.

Last month, the PSE found Alphaland in violation of its rules for failure to submit full, fair, accurate and timely disclosures of material information. Citing the property firm's repeated violations of disclosures rules, the bourse initiated involuntary delisting procedures over the company and its securities.

Alphaland is entitled to a delisting hearing under the Exchange's Rules on Delisting.

this is the shared bathroom and comfort room

the Zen-type Comfortable lounge, so you can have a seat and grab some Ice-cold beer, and well of course meet new people! they serve coffee, bread with spreads and tea for free! :)

Over all, my verdict during my stay is (comparing to other budget hostels/hotels) :

Rating : 8.5/10 (Very Good)

Price: 4 /5 stars (very cheap room starts at 85RM)

Facilities: 3.5 /5 stars
