We have reservations for the Seri Pacific Hotel and would like to leave extra luggage there between 2 different stays (for a few days) while we go to Borneo. I'm having trouble getting a hold of the hotel to find out what their policy is for this. If they cannot accommodate the request, than we will need to find another hotel. I have tried emailing several different email addresses listed on their website, as well as calling, but I can't get any one to answer the phone. Does anyone have any experience with this hotel leaving luggage?

i agree with lesley. as for choosing between datai and four seasons: the four seasons is on tanjung rhu. this peninsula is a mix of rocky outcrops, mangrove and long beaches. there is a cement factory on the other side of the bay. i find more of a problem with mosquitos there, if that is an issue. for a change of scenery, if not price, you could visit the tanjung rhu resort for dinner. if you have transport, the is a weekly night market not too far, a few local cafes at the tip of the rhu, and scarborough fish and chips [very good!] close by.

the datai is in a bay on the edge of ancient rainforest. it is an amazing place for wildlife and has fabulous views from the beach. you can eat at the restaurants in the andaman next door, but these will still be 5* prices. it is a long way from any local places of interest, and the taxis add a premium to go out there.

do note: self-drive car hire is cheap, as is petrol. the drink/drive laws are strict.
